Let’s make some traditional Vanille Kipferl 😍 Here’s what you'll need: 🌙
1 Groovy Christmas Playlist 🎼
200g cake flour
80g white sugar
175g unsweetened butter
2 egg yolks
100g ground peeled almond flour
1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
4 packets vanilla sugar
Mix all the ingredients together by hand until you have a smooth dough.
Then divide the dough into two equal parts and shape both parts into a 30-40 cm log. Wrap them up into clear wrap and place the dough into the fridge for at least 1 hour.
After the dough is cooled and developed cut about 1/2 cm of dough at a time and shape into a crescent 🌙 You should get about 60-70 cookies out of this.
The most important part about making Vanille Kipferl here in Namibia 🇳🇦 is to place the crescents into the freezer on a plate for 10 minutes before baking.
Preheat your oven to 165 °C on fan and bake the cookies on a lined baking tray for 12 minutes. (Leave some space between each crescent as they do rise a little)
Add 4 packets of vanilla sugar to a bowl.
Once the cookies are lightly golden, remove them from the oven and let them sit for 2 minutes. Then while they are still hot, immediately start coating them in the vanilla sugar and then leave to cool 🌙!
These make for the best Vanilla cookies you have ever tasted! Promise 💕 Just like granny makes them 🥰
